I try to use the most interesting, sometimes rare or unusual species, combinations and colours of woods for both stick handles and shanks,
to, I hope, make truly unique, hand crafted walking sticks. And as all of my walking sticks are individually handmade by me,

The stick making process
First, the seasoned shanks are steamed (ensuring that they are insect free) then straightened. After further drying and straightening with dry heat the hand carved heads are attached using either steel studding or a traditional wooden spigot joint (with steel studding reinforcement if needed) and resin bonding, making for a superior joint. After final assembly and finishing the walking stick is sealed with a clear sealer/filler, then, many coats of "Tru-Oil" are applied, a top quality gun stock varnish, giving a very hard wearing waterproof gloss finish which will not crack or yellow over time.
