First the seasoned shanks are steamed, (ensuring that they are insect free) then straightened. The hand carved heads are secured by steel studding and resin bonding making for a superior joint. After final assembly the walking stick is given at least seven coats of boiled linseed oil,
(more if the stick will allow), which feeds, protects and flexes with the wood far better than any varnish.
Then many of "Tru-Oil" are applied, a top quality gun stock oil giving a very hardwearing waterproof finish.
I try to use the most interesting and unusual combinations and colours of woods for handles and shanks to make truly unique walking sticks.
And as all of my Walking Sticks, Walking Canes and Hiking Sticks are individually handmade,
no two are the same, each one having it's own unique number and booklet...
